Reverend Katie Bishop,
Lead Pastor of the Greater Brunswick Charge

Reverend Katie Bishop has been serving as the lead pastor of New Hope United Methodist of Greater Brunswick since 2010. After growing up in Northern Virginia, Katie graduated from Marymount University (B.A., Religious Studies) and Wesley Theological Seminary (MDIV, specializing in Youth Ministry). She has served churches in Myersville and Smithsburg before coming to Brunswick.

Pastor Katie is passionate about church renewal. She has gifts of preaching, teaching and ministry with young people. Katie’s constant prayer is that God would hide her behind the cross, so that others might come to know the Hope that Christ brings. She is active in both Baltimore-Washington Conference Committees and community service organizations.

During her free time, Pastor Katie enjoys quilting, writing, reading and spending time with her family.

She is married to a fellow pastor, Rev. Chris Bishop, who serves as the lead pastor at Faithpoint UMC in Urbana, MD.  Katie and Chris have two beautiful daughters Eden and Bethany, and are in the process of adopting their Haiti baby.
