Committed to community here and afar, there are many ways to serve all of God’s children through the Body of Christ that is New Hope.
Congregational Care Lay Ministry
The Baltimore Washington Conference has blessed us with a grant that helps provide leadership, materials and training for congregants to become Congregational Care Ministers. Pastor William Carpenter leads and instructs the group on home visits, care facility visits, grief support, care-giver’s support and many other support aspects of our congregation. This ministry is open to anyone in our church or community who is interested in shepherding and giving support to those who are in need or are hurting. If this is a ministry that you have a heart for please contact Pastor William or Pastor Katie.
Children & Family Ministries
This ministry provides opportunities throughout the year that foster Christian fellowship among the children and families of the church and beyond. Sunday School classes are available each week for preschoolers, early elementary, intermediate elementary and the youth at 10am. One Sunday evening a month, a youth group dinner and activity is planned. Some of those activities include: playing games, cooking contests, talent shows and creating items to share with people in the community. There are events held throughout the year for families such as picnics and movie nights.
Crystal Renn leads an Elementary Youth group for grades K-5 and Toni Gardiner is on staff as New Hope Youth Group Director which includes Junior and Senior High age youth. The youth meet on a regular basis and enjoy events such as ROCK in Ocean Cityk MD, mission trips, Adventure Park, Chili Cook-offs, and even Flamingo Flockings!
Music & Worship Ministries
Use your musical gifts to glorify God and bless the community through participating in either the 9am Contemporary Worship Team or the 11am Traditional Music Choir. A new hand bell choir is also being formed. For details on the music and worship ministries of New Hope, please visit our worship page.
New Hope has a children's choir that meets on Tuesday evenings. We work on songs to share during Sunday services, events, caroling, and each year the kids work very hard on a Christmas Eve musical. There are events held throughout the year for families such as picnics and movie nights.
