of Greater Brunswick

Fear is a deeply human experience. Sometimes it's born from the unknown, sometimes from loss, sometimes from the ache of a world that feels unsteady. Our bible is full of stories of people who were afraid: prophets, parents, shepherds, even kings. Yet again and again, the Christmas angels appear with compassion, and they say: "Do not be afraid."

This year, as we journey together toward Christmas, we'll hear familiar bible stories: stories of angels appearing out of the blue, stories of people who are asked to trust beyond what they can see, and most of all the story of the Holy Child born into a world just as complicated and fearful as ours.

Together, we'll find space to name our fears honestly, and to insist on hope anyway. Together, we'll prepare our hearts for the good news of Christmas. Into a fearful world, God comes close, bringing hope, peace, and the promise that we are never alone.
