Meet Betty Richardson

Elizabeth “Betty” Richardson has been the Traditional music director at New Hope UMC since 1989.

Betty knew at an early age that church music was important in her life.  As a teen she accepted the Lord and has pursued his call for 65 years.

Betty’s first church home was Woodberry Methodist in Baltimore, MD.   She then became part of  Glen Mar UMC, in Howard County,  where she met her husband Norman.  Betty and Norman have been married for over 50 years.  They have three children, Rob, Karen, and Ted and several grandchildren.

Betty is passionate about the Lord’s work and music playing the piano and organ every Sunday at New Hope UMC’s Traditional service and volunteering at Tawny Village Retirement Community on a regular basis.
