20150527_182251William Carpenter is a Master of Theological Studies student at Wesley Theological Seminary.  He is also a certified candidate for ordination, as a Deacon, in the United Methodist Church out of the Florida Annual Conference.  William considers himself a citizen of the entire United States, having been born in Wisconsin, raised in Texas, spent 13 years in the Seattle area, and 10 years in Florida before coming to this area.

A trained musician,  William holds an undergraduate degree in music education and taught vocal music in the public schools for several years.  As a performer, he worked with various local and regional companies performing opera and musical theater for over 25 years.

William heard the call of Jesus 8 years ago and prior to coming to Wesley, he served as Worship Leader and Lay Leader for his home church in Florida.  He also served for 4 years as Lay Delegate from the Northeast District to the Florida Annual Conference’s yearly conference event.

In addition to working within the local church, William is hoping to combine his musical experience with his desire to work for social justice and to live out his calling in the service of Jesus and the church.
